History

The Almighty Blessing Arts Program is an innovative and progressive initiative founded in 2020 by Juan Batalla, also known as Almighty Blessing. In 2024, the organization expanded into a nonprofit corporation: (CRE) Chicanos Representing Empowerment, Inc., which serves as the umbrella entity for all of our community programs, including The Almighty Blessing Arts Program, English classes, Food Drives, used furniture donations for families in need, and our tabletop gaming initiative, the Obsidian Dice Society. Based in Rockford, Illinois, our physical location is 221 7th St Ste B, Rockford, IL 61104.

The program was established with a visionary goal: to harness the transformative power of the arts, education, and civic engagement to uplift at-risk and underserved youth, young adults, and families in our community.

Programs are rooted in the belief that the arts and community-based learning can be powerful tools for social change and empowerment. Through engaging workshops, collaborative projects, mentorship opportunities, and service initiatives, we encourage participants to explore their talents while becoming active and informed members of their community. By promoting civic engagement, we instill responsibility and leadership, empowering individuals to voice their perspectives and take action on issues that matter to them.

In our commitment to inclusivity, CRE actively seeks to serve a diverse population, addressing the unique challenges faced by youth and families from varying backgrounds. Our holistic approach ensures each participant receives support that fosters emotional, social, educational, and creative growth.

Additionally, CRE collaborates with local organizations, schools, and community leaders to create a supportive network that enhances the overall experience for participants. By cultivating partnerships and fostering community involvement, we aim to create lasting positive change—bridging gaps in access to the arts, essential resources, and opportunities for advancement.

Ultimately, CRE stands as a beacon of hope and creativity, striving to empower young individuals and families to realize their potential, engage with their communities, and contribute meaningfully to the world around them.

Arts Programs

The Almighty Blessing Arts Program is designed for talented young voices and creative youth who want strong artistic preparation for the future. It serves ages 7–17 years old  and focuses on Music, Visual Arts, and Youth Advocacy, providing a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment where participants can explore their creativity and grow through the arts.

Participants receive professional-level instruction and development in leadership, adaptability, self-motivation,organization and music breakdown/analysis, along with social media literacy and healthy media consumption. The program also strengthens interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communication, and encourages civic engagement, helping youth build confidence, empathy, and the ability to view their work and their community from new perspectives.

Through music and creative arts, students develop key life skills such as problem-solving, perseverance, focus, and collaboration, while also enhancing fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, lateral thinking, and complex analysis.

Recognizing that artistic expression is a vital outlet and a catalyst for personal development, the program incorporates visual arts, music, dance, theater, and digital media. To strengthen mentorship and positive role models, we also welcome volunteers ages 18–24 to take part in the program as mentors, supporting youth participants, assisting with activities, and helping create a motivating and safe learning environment.
